All Things Plutonian

The Psyche of a Lunar Scorpio

By on July 10, 2016

EMOTION: afflictive

KNOWN FOR: creating their own heaven or hell

Like a motherless child, the Moon feels strangely out of place in the sign of the Scorpion, and even more so in a double whammy aspect with Pluto (Hades Moon). Unless evolved, it is burdened with afflictive emotions – mercilessly thrown into extremities. The Moon literally drowns in the dark waters of this sign. Lifelong battles with love-hate relationships are often typical as Lunar Scorpios do not see life through rosy glasses – they live in an underworld of their own.

Nothing truly revives their souls more than intensity and passion. Akin to the blood hunger of a vampire, they yearn for it in their daily lives. Anything ordinary bores them. They seek the extraordinary of what our vast universe has to offer. Once they have stumbled upon whatever sparks their inner fire, they relentlessly and silently obsess over it, often beyond the midnight hour. Their obsessions are their attachments, and their attachments can ultimately cause them suffering as they have trouble letting go.

Prone to paranoia, their hidden fears are linked to their exceptional gut feelings, often proven true. These nocturnal creatures normally aren’t the verbally expressive kind (unless there is a lot of fire or air in the chart). They are a mystery unto themselves as they are unto others, and they fear loss of control over their own lives. Their strong need for privacy exceeds all else and creates an invisible barrier that perhaps only a Scorpio Sun or another heavily Plutonian person might be able to break down.

Physical touch holds much importance to Lunar Scorpios and allows them to study your energy. Once they have established an emotional connection with you, there is no going back – your life is inevitably transformed by their presence. They do not know neutrality, they are equally as fierce and raw in their love as they are in hate.

Familiar with condemnation, their needs and desires are often unknown to others as they have a tendency to brood in silence. Lunar Scorpios seek to protect and to persevere, and the infamous sting usually reveals itself when a threat is detected. As they rarely give up on their loved ones even in the bleakest of circumstances, they despise and deeply fear any form of betrayal or abandonment by their very own people. In unfortunate cases such as these, they’d rather burn the bridges than let the memories of the past linger in the corners of their broken minds.

It is extremely crucial for Lunar Scorpios to find healthy emotional outlets for all that repressed energy they keep inside. They often need someone who understands them without words, and the shortest path into the depths of their heart is by the touch of compassion. Though it is said that the Moon is in fall in Scorpio, it also has the highest potential to reach enlightenment via transformation of the mind. The Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama, one of the most revered spiritual teachers in history, was born with the Moon in Scorpio.

“There is nothing new under the Sun.” ~ Ecclesiastes 1:9

Thank you for your enlightening articles. So much resonates with me! I never knew Siddhartha was a moon in scorpio too..wow. I’m on a journey of self discovery and need help and resources to help me discover how I am meant to help others in my time. How did you discover you wanted to be an astrologer? Where did you go to school? I did my BSc in biology and currently work at a naturopaths clinic, which is great 🙂 but still looking to be independent and push my own efforts instead of following orders. Could you offer me some of your wisdom? Thank you xo

    This is all so true…
Spending so much time trying not to lose control but end up isolating yourself from the good people because the obsession with the extreme personalities takes up all the mental energy.
We need a support group like any other bunch.
    Thanks for sharing.
